The One I Am by Diane Lynn

Walking slowly,
I turn to look
Behind.
Nothing there,
After all.

I cannot
Understand
Which way
To Go.
I Feel Lost
And Uneasy.

Which Path
Is Mine?
I think I
Know,
Of course I do.

But wait,
What is it
That I see,
A golden light,
That’s calling me.

I move closer
And look again.
Could it really be?
Amazing…
That Light is Me!

I Feel it’s Joy
And Peace and
Love.
It looks like an Angel From
Above.

I give my thanks
On bended knee,
Rejoicing in
The new-found me.

The truth
At last,
The One
I am.

My heart is
Happy,
My Eyes Fill
With Tears.

My voice
Is silent,
Yet the
Words Are
Clear…

Remember This,
Remember Now.

I Journey on.

Making Choices by Shar Joy

February 7th, 2008

 www.AngelSisters.com

We are all faced with a myriad of choices everyday. How we choose and how we feel about what we choose are very important.

How do we make our choices? Sometimes we make our choices out of fear, obligation, guilt, or fear. Sometimes we make our choices out of love.

We always have a choice. Sometimes it feels that we don’t have a choice, but we always do. We may feel stuck or trapped, but that is not the truth.

The truth is that we have chosen to be where we are. If we hadn’t chosen it, we wouldn’t be there. When we shift our perspective, everything shifts. When we feel we have a choice, we are empowered.

Let’s say that you are in a job that you dislike. Examine the reasons that you have chosen to be there. Maybe you’ve chosen to be there for financial reasons, or because it’s a convenient location, or because you are working in your field of experience and expertise.

Whatever the reason, working at this job is serving you. You may not be happy working there, but you have chosen it. Once you realize that you have made this choice, you become empowered. When you feel trapped and stuck, you are a victim.

Look at different situations in your life that are difficult or challenging. Look at the reasons you are there. Is it to heal something, to trigger emotions from the past, or to change certain patterns?

Look at how this experience is serving you. If it wasn’t serving you, you wouldn’t be there. Everything we experience is serving us in some way. Once we realize this and see the value of it, we shift the energy and become grateful for the experience.

Gratitude is very healing and empowering. The more grateful we are, the more we open to receive. The more we receive, the more opportunities and blessings are available to us.

Honor your choices. Honor your experiences. Honor yourself. This process will lead to amazing growth and expansion in every area of your life.

Grief as a Tool for Healing by Shar Joy

January 26th, 2008

www.AngelSisters.com

Grief is about loss. It can be the loss of a loved one, an animal friend, a job, a relationship, a home, a business, or people who are no longer in our lives. We’ve all experienced loss in one way or another.

We need to grieve our losses and release the stored emotions in our bodies which manifest as depression, sadness, anger, fatigue, or physical illness.

We need to feel the feelings, the pain, the grief that we have experienced in our lives and forgive ourselves and others. We need to let go of our regrets.

“I should have done it differently”, “Why didn’t I know better?”, “Haven’t I learned by now?” are some common beliefs that keep us stuck in the past.

We all did the best we could have done at the time. If we could have done it differently, we would have. The way we see things now is not the way we saw them then.

We all have gone through painful experiences, but when we hold onto them, we are perpetuating the patterns. For example, if you have let people take advantage of you and have not set boundaries with them, it is important to forgive them and yourself. Only by feeling the sadness, anger, fear and other emotions, can we let go of the continuation of the pattern.

This is a vital part of the grieving process. We may feel sad; we may feel angry; we may cry; we may feel afraid. As we honor these feelings and let ourselves feel them, no matter how painful they are, the emotions start uplifting. They are no longer in our bodies, weighing us down and preventing us from moving ahead.

Think about a time recently when you felt sad, depressed, angry, or afraid. Instead of pushing these feelings away, begin by acknowledging them. Don’t judge them as right or wrong, good or bad. They are just your feelings and it is okay to feel them.

Allow yourself to feel and to grieve. As you shift, so will things outside of you. As you let go of the past, you are able to move forward. As you let go of your anger, you are open to give and receive love. This is the beauty and joy of the grieving process.

Healing Compulsive Eating by Shar Joy

January 14th, 2008

www.AngelSisters.com

Many times over the years I have been asked by my clients and my students about food, what they should eat, what they shouldn’t eat, what is good and what is bad. Is caffeine blocking them from accessing their intuition? Is chocolate keeping them from connecting to their angels? What about eating meat, or is it better to be a vegetarian?

My answer is this: There is no right or wrong, no good or bad. Each person’s body is different and each person “needs” different foods at different times.

It is important to start trusting yourself and your body. It is important to know what foods your body needs at different times during the day. The way you know this is to know yourself and to trust yourself.

When we go on diets and listen to what someone else tells us to eat, we are not trusting our bodies. We are giving our power away to someone else, someone else who is not in our body. The only one who knows what your body wants to eat is you!

The way to be empowered about your eating is to listen to yourself. Eat when you are hungry, stop when you are full. Let yourself eat whatever it is your body wants, not your mind. Allow yourself the choice. Today your body may want chocolate, tomorrow it may want vegetables.

As soon as you let your body tell you what it wants to eat, and you listen to it, you will start coming into balance. You will no longer deny yourself certain foods and end up craving them and bingeing on them. You will no longer trust another person more than you trust yourself. You will no longer rely on others for the truth. You will take back your power and make your own choices.

For many years, I had an eating disorder - compulsive eating. I went on every diet available, went to every diet group there was, and never, ever ate what I wanted to eat. I only ate what someone else told me to eat. And I never lost a pound. I actually gained weight, because the diets were so restrictive that my body went totally out of balance and I ended up eating even more to satisfy my cravings of the foods I was never allowed to eat. It was a vicious cycle and became an obsession for me.

I finally decided to change the pattern. I decided to start listening to my body and allowed myself to eat what my body wanted. I would eat when I was hungry and stop when I was full, but I would choose foods based on what my body told me. Eventually my compulsive eating subsided and I started losing weight. Best of all, I stopped obsessing about food and eating. It became a normal part of my day, a normal part of my life, and it still is.

Food can become a normal part of your life, also. Listen to yourself. Become empowered. When you start trusting yourself with food, you start trusting yourself in other areas of your life.

As you change and grow, your likes and dislikes for food will also change. Honor the process, honor the change. By doing this, you are honoring yourself.

What Are Etheric Cords by Shar Joy

December 13th, 2007

www.AngelSisters.com

Etheric cords are cords of energy that we create when we are out-of-balance with another person.

How do we know if we might have an etheric cord?

When we have feelings of guilt, anger, or fear toward another person, there may be an etheric cord going from one of your chakras to the other person’s chakra. If you find yourself thinking of someone in a “negative” way very often and very intensely, you may be attached to that person through an etheric cord.  Etheric cords affect both people. You are allowing the other person to take your energy through the cord, and, at the same time, you are taking the other person’s energy. You may feel drained, emotional, and anxious.  People can only attach to us if we let them. At some level, you have allowed someone to attach to you through an etheric cord.

Why would we allow people to take our energy?

There are many reasons for this.  Maybe you are angry and your anger attaches to the other person’s anger.  Like energy always attracts like energy, so whatever emotions you are feeling will be drawn to you from other people.  If you are angry at someone and he/she is angry at you, an etheric cord is created through the two points of anger.  When you are attached to someone through an etheric cord, it is very difficult to let go of the emotions that you are feeling.  As soon as the cord is cut, you will probably feel a lessening of the emotions and feel much calmer.

How do we cut cords?

I always call on Archangel Michael to cut the cords.  He takes his sword, and cuts through the cord.  Call on him anytime for he is here to protect us and help us with our healing.  He can be many places at the same time, so don’t feel you are monopolizing him.  He is here to help us whenever we call on him.

What happens after the cord is cut?

After the cord is cut, you may feel a subsiding of the intense emotions, and you may feel lighter and more peaceful.  Cords can re-attach, so it is important to heal as much as you can within yourself so that the cord does not come back.  It is important to look at your emotions, the issues around them, and start the healing process.  The more you heal, the less likely you are to have any etheric cords.  Always go to the feelings and beliefs around an issue.

If you are angry at someone, explore this feeling.  Is this triggering a childhood situation?  Does this person remind you of someone in your past?  Most of the time, people in our lives, who we have intense emotions about, are just bringing up a previous experience that has never been healed.

Does your boss remind you of your father, or mother?  Is your husband, wife, girlfriend, or boyfriend triggering feelings that you had when you were growing up?  Do you feel drained around certain people and energized around others?  If you feel drained, there is a good chance that you have an etheric cord to that person.  Look beneath the surface.  Be aware of the patterns.

Etheric cords can be a gauge of what you have not yet healed in yourself.  The more you heal, the less you allow other people to attach to you.  This creates a feeling of balance, protection, and well-being, and helps you to move ahead in your life.

Meet Four Archangels by Shar Joy

December 1st, 2007

www.AngelSisters.com

Archangel Michael

Michael’s name means “he who is like God”.  Michael oversees the light worker’s life purpose.  His main function is to rid the earth and its inhabitants of fear.  He also helps all people who are doing spiritual healing work and teaching.

Archangel Michael is tall and carries a sword.  His colors are blue and purple.  Call on Archangel Michael whenever you need protection, at home, in your car, or wherever you are.

Michael guides and directs those who feel lost or stuck in any aspect of their life.  He can cut etheric cords, and give you courage, protection, and direction.

Call on Michael anytime.  Just say, either out loud or to yourself, “Please Archangel Michael, come to me now”.  Then tell him what you need.  Be specific in what you are asking.

For example, you might want him to protect your house, give you courage in a specific situation, or clarity about an issue.  When you call on him, he will always be there.  He can be in many, many places at once, so don’t feel you are monopolizing him, or taking up too much of his time.  He’s here to help all of us anytime we need him.

Archangel Raphael

Raphael is the healing archangel.  His name means “God heals”.  He is here to help us heal physical issues, as well as bring comfort and reduce stress and anxiety.  He will come whenever he is called, but he cannot interfere with a person’s free will.  The person must be willing to receive the healing.

Raphael can also assist and guide healers in their healing work.  Call on him for guidance and support.

Raphael also works with animals and can help with their healing.

Raphael helps with safe travel and with transportation and lodging, so that everything goes smoothly.

Raphael’s color is an emerald green.  He has a very gentle, kind and loving energy.  Call on him whenever you need him for yourself, someone else, or a pet.  He will surround them with healing energy.  You could say, “Archangel Raphael, please give a healing to (name the person, animal, or yourself).  Thank you.”

Archangel Gabriel

Gabriel means “God is my strength”.  Gabriel is the angel who told Elizabeth and Mary of the impending births of their sons, John the Baptist and Jesus of Nazareth, respectively.

Gabriel is known as the messenger angel, bringing us messages and guidance.

Call on Gabriel for help in child conception and adopting a child.  Also, Gabriel will assist anyone in the arts or communications field, helping to motivate and inspire them.

Call on Gabriel to open creativity, for inspiration and expression.

Archangel Uriel

Uriel’s name means “God is light”.  Uriel is known as the archangel who brought the practice of alchemy, the ability to turn base metal into precious metal, to humankind.

Uriel is very wise and can give you intellectual information, practical solutions and creative insights.  He can give you new ideas and solutions that you may not have thought of.

Call on Uriel if you need more information about a situation.  He will help you see all different perspectives so that you can come to the truth.

When you ask for Archangel Uriel, be specific about the situation you need help with.  Then let go and be open to new ideas and information.

Healing Your Inner Child by Shar Joy

November 20th, 2007

www.AngelSisters.com

We all have heard the term “inner child”. Who is our inner child and why is he/she important? We’re all adults now. Why do we need to bother with our inner children?

Our Inner Child contains all of our feelings, memories and experiences from childhood. In order to be whole and integrated, we need to connect and work together with our inner children. Many of our inner children have been wounded and feel alone and empty. Many of them have separated from us because of their pain.

When we experience a trauma or something unpleasant, a part of us (the inner child) may split off because it is too painful to be in our bodies. Think of a painful experience that you have had. Can you feel the emotions behind it? Maybe you feel angry or afraid or guilty.

It is very common to separate parts of ourselves energetically when we experience something painful. This can happen at any age. If you feel scattered and spacey, then you probably have parts of yourself that have separated.

Separating parts of ourselves was a good thing to do when we were in trauma. We couldn’t have stayed in our bodies. Separating parts of ourselves probably helped us to survive. It served us then, but it is not serving us now.

Now is the time to integrate all these parts, all these inner children, so that you can become whole.

This is a very gentle process. When the inner children are ready to come back and you are ready to receive them, I suggest the following process:

Sit in a quiet place and begin to breathe deeply. Ask for help from your angels and guides. Close your eyes and start to sense any children around you. You may see them, feel them, or just sense them. There may be one child or more than one. Usually you will see one first.

Notice how the child is feeling. Is he/she afraid, lonely, confused, angry? Whatever the child feels is okay. Begin to talk to the child, either out loud or in your mind. Tell the child that you’ve come to take him/her back so you can be together. If the child is frightened, it’s okay. Let him/her become comfortable with you. Tell the child how happy you are to see him/her. Speak from your heart and connect to the child. As you do this, energetically have the intent to open your heart and invite the child to come in.

When the child is ready, he/she will enter your aura and blend into your heart. You may feel the energy as it integrates. Thank the child for coming back. Talk to him/her everyday. Be loving and accepting. Honor the parts of yourself that the child has brought to you.

As you retrieve these parts of yourself, you will experience joy of being reunited with your inner children, and their joy at being home at last.

Reiki and Change of Consciousness by Shar Joy

November 16th, 2007

www.AngelSisters.com

For most of my life, I experienced a deep depression. I spent years going to therapy, trying to overcome a difficult childhood. Even with years of counseling, there was no improvement. I just survived day-to-day, year after year.

Then I found Reiki (or maybe it found me). I read a book on Reiki and was so drawn to it that I immediately took my first Reiki class and went on to take Levels 2, and 3, and later Karuna Reiki. My first class was eleven years ago and my life has completely changed since then.

After the Reiki class, I began treating myself with Reiki, receiving Reiki sessions from others, and started my Reiki practice. Little by little, my energy started shifting. I began releasing layer after layer of anger, guilt, sadness and fear. Each time I shifted my energy, I would feel a shift in my life. Sometimes it was a large change; sometimes it was very subtle, but my life started changing.

I no longer felt the heavy energy of depression that had always weighed me down. I started feeling lighter and happier. It was truly amazing!

I contribute a large part of my healing to what I term a “change of consciousness”. Through Reiki, I started to see that everything that had happened to me was something that I had chosen for my highest growth and expansion. I began to feel that everything has a Divine purpose and there is always a bigger picture than what we see. As this became clearer and clearer, I began to forgive myself, as well as others, and the more I forgave, the more peaceful I felt. The more I let go of the past, the more I could move forward.

Over the years, I have seen many of my Reiki clients experience this same change of consciousness and change their lives. As they learn the highest truth of their experiences, they are able to let go and reconnect to the love, joy and peace that have always been there for all of us.

How the Angels Saved My Life by Shar Joy

October 30th, 2007

www.AngelSisters.com

When I was nine years old, I was attending a day camp called Camp Bell. One day, we all went into the pool for our swim time. The pool was filled with kids of all ages, playing and swimming.

All of a sudden, I was pushed and fell to the bottom of the pool. I tried to stand up, but all I saw were lots of feet walking all around me. The pool was really crowded, and there was no space for me to move.

No one noticed me lying on the bottom of the pool.

I must have lost consciousness, because the next thing I remember is being lifted out of the pool and brought to the side. Amazingly, I was completely fine. I had no need for a doctor, or an ambulance.

In fact, I never told anyone what happened, but I know that my guardian angel, or angels, lifted me out of the pool that day, and saved my life.

If you have an angel experience you would like to share, please write a comment at the end of this article. We’d love to hear from you!  Visit our website, www.angelsisters.com  for more articles about the angels.

Changing the Patterns in Your Life by Shar Joy

October 23rd, 2007

www.AngelSisters.com

Have you ever noticed that you are repeating the same patterns over and over? Maybe it’s happening in the area of relationships, work, money, or any other part of your life.

How do patterns begin and how can we change them so that we can create what we truly want in our lives?

The first step of changing any pattern is our awareness that this is a pattern. Many times we don’t realize this because the behavior and situations are comfortable and familiar.

Take a close look at a situation in your life that you are unhappy with. Notice if this has happened before. Maybe you’ve had a series of jobs where you haven’t been appreciated or valued. Maybe you’ve been in intimate relationships with men/women who are distant or emotionally unavailable. Maybe you’ve struggled with money issues and feel there’s never enough. If you’ve had any of these experiences or any others that you’d like to change, it is very helpful to look at your beliefs around the situation.

For example, if you believe there’s never enough and that you are not provided for by the Universe, then you will create that situation in your life. If you are afraid of letting people see who you really are, you will draw people to you who are critical, distant or judgmental.

Your feelings and beliefs are stored as energy in your body. As you shift and uplift these energies, you set yourself free to create a new pattern.

There are many ways to acquire a belief. Maybe it was something we were told or something we took on based on other people’s behaviors. It could have happened in childhood or when we were older. The energy around the feeling or belief stays in our bodies until we heal it.

Like energy always attracts like energy. So, as you shift your energy and change your beliefs, everything outside of you changes. You begin to create the manifestation of your new beliefs, and have the opportunity to live a life of peace, love and joy.
